Last week the USA suffered one of its largest ever outbreaks of tornado activity. Rescuers are still searching for survivors, but already the number of confirmed fatalities has reached 45
The US National Weather Service tracks individual sightings of tornadoes. In total 250 were logged between April 14 and 16.
Using the geographic coordinates in these reports I’ve put together an interactive map showing their locations. Click the icons to see to the time, nearest town and a description. Red markers represent events with possible injuries and deaths. Some reports may refer to the same tornado.
