GeoEye has just released fresh high resolution satellite imagery of Osama Bin Laden’s walled compound in Pakistan. Amazingly it was taken the day U.S. Forces killed Bin Laden – May 2 2011, at 10.21 am local time, about ten hours after the attack.
you can clearly make out a blackened area to the left of the building complex – presumably the site of the crashed US helicopter. Also the red plastic fencing erected by the Pakistan authorities after the raid.
A photo covering a wider area is avilable on GeoEye’s website.
UPDATE: Google, GeoEye and DigitalGlobe have released further satellite photos of the compound. Check out this complete timeline of images.
