NASA’s SDO Probe Captures Images of an Awesome Solar Flare

On the same theme, on February 24, 2011 NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) caught the incredible details of a massive solar prominence, almost edge on as it erupted out of the sun. The erupting plasma swirled and twisted over a period of 90 minutes, some blowing out into space. other material falling back onto the solar surface.
