Mapping Earth’s Leaky Surface

New Scientist has a piece on the first global permeability map – showing how easily water passes through surface rocks. Apparently scientists don’t currently know just how much water there is underground, so this map could lead to greater knowledge about groundwater movements, which in turn could help provide more accurate climate modelling.
