Firefox 4.0, officially launched today. The Mozilla Foundation shows it knows how to make the most of positive publicity by setting up an interactive counter, totting up the mind-blowing number of downloads.
The central feature is a real time map, sparkling with dots representing the locations of the latest users eagerly grabbing the browser. At the bottom of the page is a bar chart with totals for every minute. To the left of this a link to a sunburst graph – click through to see statistics for countries, and smaller regions. And of course, there’s also a link to download the browser.
