Animate your City’s Public Transportation System

Recently I’ve mentioned several cool city transit visualizations animating traffic over the course of a day.   How about making your own ?

TmsTransitAnimator from www.themasterscheduler.com is an incredibly easy to use free Windows application which runs from GTFS zip files (Google Transit feeds) – the basis of the public transportation information used in Google maps.

Grab the software, open a Transit file, and within a few seconds you can be playing back the animation movie. Options let you chose exactly how many routes to display, and include a bunch of  display settings to alter thing like colour and tail length.
